Microsoft - Memory in your mouse
Often over shadowed by it’s software development, Microsoft’s hardware division continues to move forward with some highly innovative products of its own.
Due out in October, Microsoft’s Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 will blend the convenience of a wireless mouse with 1G of flash memory. Aimed at the laptop / notebook market, the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 is a great combination.
“Over the past 25 years Microsoft Hardware has consistently raised the bar of innovation, and adding a gigabyte of memory to the mouse transceiver is truly a computing milestone,” said Matt Barlow, worldwide director of marketing and partner development at Microsoft Hardware. “We’ve packed more memory into the transceiver than an entire computer had 25 years ago.”
Memory Mouse can connect via 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth, allowing use with or without the provided transceiver providing the computer is also Bluetooth-equipped.
With a battery that will run for 3 weeks on one charge and a tilt-wheel for use with Microsoft’s Vista Flip 3D.
While 1G of memory seems passe’ today where “thumb drives” can support up to 16 G, it will only be a matter of time before higher storage sizes are available.
Retail price of the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 is expected to be below $100 US.

Do I really want to walk around with a mouse in my pocket? I think a thumb drive is much more manageable
