Never a dull moment with Apple
With the 6th generation of the iPod just around the corner, NBC has decided not to provide Apple’s iTunes store with its TV shows after their contract expires in December unless it is able to get a bigger chunk of change for its content. Apple, in a reciprocal poke to the eye of NBC, has stated that it will not provide the iTunes audience with NBC generated TV shows starting with the approaching program season this September.
Seems like a win/ win situation for consumers -they won’t have to pay for what they don’t want to watch on TV.
On a side note, NBC and News Corp. are expected to launch their own online video website at hulu.com in the near future. You can register to take part in “Hulu private beta” at hulu.com
