What do you do with a $Billion

If you are Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com, you hire a few rocket scientists and start a company with the intention launching commercial suborbital flights into space.
The project, named Blue Origin, was started in 2000. Since that time very little information has been provided by the venture until November 13, 2006 when a tear shaded pod named Goddard, was launched. Although the flight only gained an altitude of 285 feet, the impressive part was that it accomplished the feat propelling itself straight up, then it returned to the same spot to a soft landing. Video of the flight can be seen on the company website www.blueorigin.com. The vehicle seems to resemble a project that was under development by McDonnell Douglas for NASA in the 1990’s, but lost development funding. Some reports suggest that the rocket scientist that were on that project now work for Mr.Bezos.
The Blue Origin website seems to be a help wanted ad for “hard working, technically gifted, team-oriented, experienced” rocket scientist. So, if that seems to describe you, maybe this could be really cool gig.
