According to Sophos, a security management company, the United States held the title of the largest contributor to spam production in the world with 21%, followed at a distance by China with 13.4%. The report covers the third quarter of 2006.
The past 6 months have seen dramatic increases in spam. Experts point to infected personal computers controlled by webots, are being used with increasing frequency.
